Condoit
A tablet app designed for electrical auditors to streamline their workflow and enhance efficiency.
Condoit is a tablet app designed to streamline workflows for electrical auditors. I collaborated with a team of 8 to redesign the app’s screens, focusing on revamping user flows, creating a new information architecture, and integrating modern, accessible UI elements. This resulted in a more engaging and visually appealing platform with unique features.
The original Condoit tablet app had a complex interface with confusing navigation, inefficient data collection, and limited accessibility. How can we simplify navigation, enhance data visualization, and improve accessibility, while boosting engagement and aligning the design with a polished, premium brand vision?
Problem
As part of a team, I helped redesign Condoit to simplify the workflow for electrical auditors by developing new information architecture, enhancing navigation, improving data visualization, and creating a more modern, accessible UI. The updated app streamlined processes and led to a 40% increase in funding.

Incremental updates over 4 months
Starting with the existing tablet app
The original tablet app had a complex interface, inefficient data collection, and limited accessibility, leading to poor user experience and low engagement. Our goal was to improve navigation, data visualization, and accessibility based on user research. Leadership also wanted the app to feel more polished, aligning with the brand’s vision.

User Research and Collaboration with Leadership
Summary of key insights from meetings with Condoit leaders
To start the Condoit project, I conducted meetings with leadership to understand their platform, users, and objectives. The primary goal was to redesign for users aged 40-60, many with limited tech skills who relied on manual note-taking. We conducted usability tests to identify pain points, focusing on making the digital transition smoother by emulating paper-based workflows.
Discovering Pain Points and Prioritizing Improvements
Our research began with an analysis of the existing Condoit app to identify areas for improvement. We engaged with the CEO and CMO to align the redesign with the company’s vision and goals. Additionally, we conducted workshops to understand the technical aspects of electrical systems, ensuring our design was relevant and practical for users.
Key Areas for Improvement:
Complex Interface & Visual Inconsistency: Users found the interface confusing. We applied a cohesive color palette and clear visual cues, improving navigation and task completion.
Simplifying the User Journey: Unnecessary pages caused frustration. We eliminated redundancies, shortening the user journey and clarifying options.
New Features: We added image upload, zoom for Single Line Diagrams, and full document history access, enhancing functionality for electrical auditors.
Outcome: 45% Increase in Clients and $2 Million in Funding
The Condoit redesign yielded impressive results within six months, with customer satisfaction rising and a 45% increase in clients. The company also secured an additional $2 million in funding. Condoit evolved from an MVP to a comprehensive tool, improving data collection efficiency and accuracy for electrical audits. Looking ahead, the team plans to unify the interface across all platforms and introduce customizable settings to continue driving growth and maintaining market leadership.
Reflection
Working on Condoit taught me the importance of balancing technical complexity with a user-friendly design. Collaborating with stakeholders to understand the intricate needs of electrical systems was a rewarding challenge.
It reinforced the value of user research in shaping intuitive solutions and improved my ability to communicate technical ideas effectively. This project also highlighted how thoughtful design can simplify workflows and enhance user satisfaction.
